When I first read the word "share", I immediately thought of the verse in Galatians 6:2 (which I had to Google to discover accurately). New Living Translation states
Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
Where life has taken my husband and I these past few years has required a lot of burden sharing. Falling on our knees on behalf of others, those same sweet friends on their knees petitioning on our behalf.
The beauty of fellowship with other believers is that not only are we reminded of God's faithfulness, but often He lets us take turns in turmoil. While one couple is strengthened and in a time of praise, the other couple then can rely on some additional encouragement.
If we are willing to ask for help, it is often surprising how welcome that help becomes.
Today, I was able to ask for strength and prayer from others as I knew a challenge was coming that was necessary and good but would tax me greatly. These same friends have recently been on my lips daily before our Mighty and Powerful God. I am so thankful for sharing praises, prayers, and the faithfulness of a Holy Spirit that continues to bless us with His revelation.
I cannot stop singing the praises of our Almighty God. His works are too wonderous to be counted!
That may not be an exact quote, but the spirit of the Psalmists is resonant deep within me tonight.
We walk together and press on toward the goal for which God calls us. Let us share His word with others that they may be edified and encouraged as well!

Yes, Tammy- God has designed us to receive much joy and comfort when we share one another's burdens. I'm so glad you have such a community. I loved your post and your picture! :)
ReplyDeleteKaren,
Deletethank you so much for writing to me! Now you have reached out and become part of community to me as well. :D
I hope to continue to reach out to people who may not have community yet!

It is so good to have Christian friends to lean on, who pray for us (and for whom we pray) in all the many seasons of our lives. I know I'm so thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm glad you have the blessing of those who help share the burdens and joys of life too!
ReplyDelete:D Thank you for your kind words!
DeleteI love that we can encourage each other here online as well as in person and hope never to forget that people may need community. I try to seek out new people and welcome them, having been at our church for 10 years already. It's hard to be the new person.
Thanks again!

"Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ." That is so much the core of the message of Christ that I'm glad that you shared it. Lovely post! Have a good week, calm, happy and victorious! FMF friend.
ReplyDeleteZippi,
Deleteoh thank you for reading. I am so glad to know that it encouraged you!
And, how wonderful it feels to help others and to be helped. :) We are happiest when we are doing that which He sent us to do.
May you be filled with His Spirit again and again and be blessed!

Tammy,
ReplyDeleteI just read this verse not five minutes ago! I am forever grateful for the support and encouragement of other believers - such as yourself, sweet lady! :)
Cara,
Deleteand I too am so thankful for your support and encouragement! I have a glass top on my dresser, and under it is the verse you wrote out from Psalm 118:14-16.
Part of it is your beautiful handwriting, but the promises you wrote out are such an encouragement to me! My oneword365 for the year is "joy" and it's in there paired with shouts of victory. I thank YOU, sweet Cara. You bless me so much!
